Project consisted of widening and resurfacing IL 169 for nine miles in Pulaski and Massac Counties

Horner & Shifrin provided Phase I and Phase II services for the rehabilitation of nine miles of Illinois Route 169 for the Illinois Department of Transportation, Region 5, District 9. The highway is a major east-west link between Illinois Route 37 and U.S. Route 45 near the Cache and Ohio Rivers in Pulaski and Massac Counties.

The project included widening, resurfacing and ditch reconstruction to improve the highway to meet 3R standards. Phase I included accident analysis, preparation of a location drainage study, performing a topographic survey, cost estimates, and preparation of a Phase I Project Report. Public involvement activities included coordination with local officials and the organizing, preparing exhibits and attending a public informational meeting.

Phase II services included the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for the widening and resurfacing project including the reconstruction of two intersections, culvert widening and/or replacement, and a bituminous inlay in the town of Kamak.
