Horner & Shifrin provided engineering services for the conversion of two circuits from 4160V to 12,470V for the City of Jackson, Missouri’s, municipal utility. The project included the replacement of all 4160V transformers with dual voltage transformers and all related hardware and insulators.

H&S conducted a survey of all pole locations and replacement of all substandard or damaged poles. All poles were replaced for clearance and 336 ACSR conductor was used.

The replacement of 4160V underground primary with 12,470V cable required the rebuilding and reconductoring of one quarter mile of double circuit copper conductor and the coordination of substation exits for the two circuits from the new substation.
