Horner & Shifrin provided design services and permitting assistance for a temporary public water system during the construction of Holcim’s new Portland cement manufacturing facility located adjacent to the Mississippi River in Ste. Genevieve County, MO. The public water system was designed to provide potable water to approximately 250 office personnel, 250 subcontractors and 1,300 craft personnel. The facility generates approximately four million metric tons of cement annually, and features the largest single kiln line in operation in the world.
