New Additions
It’s no secret Horner & Shifrin has been growing rapidly. We are expanding in all aspects including a move to a larger office in Chicago and the addition of new employees. Over the past five months, we are excited to have added ten new employees to the Horner & Shifrin family! Get to know our new employee owners below.
Karl Eson:
Graduating from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a BS in Computer Management Information Systems, Karl Eson is currently working towards a MS in Geography. Karl is a GIS Analyst located in the St. Louis office and has been with Horner & Shifrin since May, 2018.
Steve Gillen:
Steve Gillen joined the Horner & Shifrin family May 5th, 2018. Based in the Chicago office, his focus is on transportation project pursuits. Steve received a BA in Physical Geography from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urban, Illinois, and a MS in Materials Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. With more than 34 years of experience in transportation design, and 27 years spent at the Illinois Tollway, we are excited for the knowledge and skills he can offer.
Paige Hibbard:
Paige Hibbard recently graduated from the University of Tulsa with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Paige joined Horner & Shifrin in June, 2018 as an Engineer. She is located in the St. Louis Office and working in the Building Services MEP department
Kip Kritis:
Kip Kritis is a GIS Analyst based in the St. Louis office. Kip joined Horner & Shifrin in June, 2018 and received a BS in Geography at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Previously, Kip was a Plumbing/HVAC Technician for the United States Navy.
Sam Mittal:
Sam Mittal is one of the most recent additions to Horner & Shifrin, joining August 1st, 2018. Sam has a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering, from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, a MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Schools of Business. Sam brings more than 10 years of engineering experience with him and will be a great asset to the team.
Nirali Shah:
Nirali Shah is a Professional Engineer with more than 15 years of experience in civil engineering design, municipal, and construction administration. She has a BS in Civil Engineering from M.S. University of Baroda, India, and a MS in Construction Management from Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta, GA. Nirali is based at the O’Fallon, MO office as a Project Engineer, and has been with Horner & Shifrin since April, 2018.
Sloan Smith:
Sloan Smith has joined Horner & Shifrin as a Construction Inspector, working in the Construction Services department. Since joining the company in May, Sloan has been based at the St. Louis Office. Sloan received a BS in Marketing from the University of South Alabama. Since then, he has received years of construction training with the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Jansen Stark:
Jansen Stark is a Civil Engineer based at the O’Fallon, MO office since June 18th, 2018. Recently receiving his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri Columbia, Jansen will be a great addition to the Horner & Shifrin family.
Joseph Unterreiner:
Joseph Unterreiner recently joined Horner & Shifrin July 30th, 2018. Based at the O’Fallon, MO Office, Joseph is a professional designer for the Civil-Site group. He brings with him over 17 years of experience in roadway and site work on a wide variety of projects. Joseph received an Architectural Drafting Design Degree from Ranken Technical College, and will be a great asset to the company.
Emily Wellen:
Emily Wellen is a recent grad, joining Horner & Shifrin June 18th, 2018. She graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a BS in Applied Communication Studies. Her emphasis was in Public Relations, and she minored in Mass Communications. Emily is located at the St. Louis office as a Marketing Coordinator.
