Horner & Shifrin, Inc., congratulates employee-owner Brian Schmidt, P.E., on passing the Professional Traffic Operations Engineer exam. The PTOE certification is a benchmark of excellence in the traffic engineering and operations fields. As of December 5, 2007, only 88 PTOEs reside in the State of Illinois. “We are pleased to have a team member on our Illinois staff who has earned the PTOE certification. It falls into our long-range goals of increasing traffic engineering services to our firm’s client base,” stated William Clarke, President of Horner & Shifrin.

To be eligible for the PTOE certification examination, Mr. Schmidt, a registered Professional Engineer with eight years of experience, demonstrated his mastery of skills, knowledge, and abilities in traffic operations engineering. The PTOE certification documents that he has met exacting and objective criteria in the areas of standards, recommended practices, and the policies and procedures necessary to operate effective and efficient traffic facilities.
