Horner & Shifrin Designing Improvements to Interstate 55/70 For Illinois Department of Transportation Region 5/District 8February 13, 2009

The Illinois Department of Transportation, Region 5 / District 8 in Collinsville, has selected Horner & Shifrin to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for the rehabilitation of Interstate 55/70 between Canteen Creek and Belt Line Road in Madison County, Illinois. The project will consist of milling and resurfacing, and overhead sign structure rehabilitation and replacement, as well as rehabilitation of the existing structures along the route. Additional work under this contract includes the replacement of the IL 160 structure over Branch Lake Creek south of Trenton. Steve Donahue, Horner & Shifrin Project Manager, states, “The varied work that will be performed as part of this contract will benefit the driving public in many locations throughout the region by improving roadway conditions and safety at the same time.”
