Horner & Shifrin is designing improvements to the heavily traveled Frank Scott Parkway at six intersections in Shiloh, Swansea, Fairview Heights and Belleville for the St. Clair County Department of Roads & Bridges. The project includes a traffic study involving five miles of Frank Scott Parkway, intersection geometrics, pavement widening, new through-lanes and turn lanes, traffic signals, storm sewers and environmental studies. The affected intersections along Frank Scott Parkway are at Green Mount Road, Hartmann Lane, Old Collinsville Road, IL 159, Sullivan Drive and IL 161. Brian Schmidt, Horner & Shifrin Project Manager, states, “The improvements we are designing will result in less congestion, allowing motorists to travel this route more quickly and safely. The rapid growth of the area has mandated the improvements that will be made, which will be effective for quite some time.”
