Bill Clarke Inducted into Missouri Society
of Professional Engineers Hall of Fame

July 10, 2009

William P. Clarke, P.E.
President

William P. Clarke, P.E., president, was inducted into the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) Hall of Fame on Monday, June 22, 2009, at the group’s 72nd Annual Convention. Only 12 other individuals had received this honor.

The MSPE Hall of Fame was developed to recognize individual engineers or friends of the profession whose personal accomplishments, awards, and activities exemplify the goals and objectives of MSPE and positively promote the professional engineering community. After the Hall of Fame’s initial induction of six members and one honorary friend of the Society in 2000, just one member per year now is eligible to be added, and members are not necessarily inducted each year.

Mr. Clarke, a resident of University City, has been an active member of MSPE since 1980, and has served MSPE/NSPE (National Society of Professional Engineers) on the national, state and local levels. In July, he will begin his term as chair of the NSPE/PEPP (Professional Engineers in Private Practice) division.  He has served as NSPE National Director (1997-99) and NSPE/PEPP North Central Region Vice Chair (1994-98). From 1987 through 2000, he held state offices of Secretary/Treasurer, Vice Chair, Chair-Elect and Chair of the MSPE/PEPP; and Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, President-elect, President and Past President of MSPE. His contributions to the St. Louis Chapter of MSPE include serving as Chapter Director, State Director, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President-elect and President from 1984 through 1994.
