Fredericktown Study will Result in
Improved Drinking Water Quality

May 7, 2010

Horner & Shifrin, Inc., is performing a potable water system disinfection by-products study for the City of Fredericktown, Missouri.

“To date, we have reviewed the operation of the water system, including the water treatment plant and distribution system, to formulate alternatives to reduce certain contaminant levels,” said Dennis Campbell, Horner & Shifrin’s project manager.  We examined alternatives involving changes in system operations that can accomplish such reductions, including distribution system flushing, changes in chemical feed systems, enhanced coagulation and methods of water disinfection.

The city is currently reviewing our draft report and plans to select an alternative later this year.
