Our Water Resources Group offers a full range of environmental / sanitary engineering services that may be provided independently or in conjunction with our architectural, civil, electrical, wastewater, mechanical, structural, and/or transportation capabilities.

Horner & Shifrin's environmental engineering team brings a variety of engineering experience and expertise to any job. Having worked with numerous municipalities, investor-owned utilities, and private-sector clients, our expertise has evolved, as has the field of sanitary engineering into environmental engineering, encompassing the management of air pollution, solid waste, and hazardous substances; along with drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater.

Horner & Shifrin's design philosophy is to meet or exceed client expectations by providing innovative, comprehensive and cost-effective solutions.

Horner & Shifrin has been an industry leader in storm drainage, hydraulic analysis, stormwater control and flood protection, and in the forefront of "civil / sanitary engineering” since the firm’s founding by two nationally recognized civil engineers: Wesley Horner and Hymen Shifrin in 1933. Our environmental engineering capabilities include the design and construction of drinking water supply, treatment, and distribution system facilities (including treatment residuals processing and disposal systems); wastewater collection, treatment, and discharge facilities (including treatment residuals processing and disposal systems); and stormwater management systems.
