Professional Designer (Mechanical)

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Professional Designer to work in our Building Services business unit. This position requires 3+ years of experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Setup REVIT models based on company standards for MEP group and incorporate client’s standards for specific projects
Coordinate exchange of REVIT models with external clients
Perform Collision detection analysis using Navisworks and work with design engineers to achieve spatial coordination
Review and implement clients’ BIM execution plans
Coordinate with the client’s BIM Coordinator
Attend BIM coordination meetings
Draft/model based on providing “redlined” markups for Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical systems
Manage/Implement the department’s REVIT/BIM Standards including smart schedules, share parameters files, and family creation
Train new employees on the department’s REVIT/BIM Standards
Compile construction documents for project milestones and submit them to clients
Perform QA/QC on documents for adherence to BIM/REVIT/Drawing standards

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Strong ability to work in both AutoCAD and Revit
Experience with Navisworks Manage
Experience in building electrical systems (preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain a safe work environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must complete a background check

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school

Salary Range:

Salary will be commensurate with experience
