Horner & Shifrin Announces Acquisition of Clarida & Ziegler Engineering Co.
Horner & Shifrin has acquired Clarida & Ziegler Engineering Co. (CZE) located in Marion, Illinois. Founded in 1965 by Glenn Clarida, CZE provides engineering and surveying services for municipalities, water districts, and commercial and residential developers.
Since their founding, CZE has grown to 20 full-time employees. Brian Ziegler, Owner and President, is dedicated to continuing the firm’s reputation for quality service. Key members of the firm have experience in planning, design and construction of roadways, site development, sewage collection and treatment facilities, and water treatment and distribution facilities. CZE also offers topographic surveying, legal surveying, ALTA surveys and construction staking. Their firm’s extensive knowledge and experience allow them to provide cost-effective solutions and superior service to their clients. H&S is looking forward to their continued service and the added value they can provide to Horner & Shifrin’s clients.

As part of the acquisition, the entire CZE team will join H&S, including Owner and President Brian Ziegler, who will serve as Associate Vice President and Regional Manager. Mr. Ziegler will continue to focus on business development and operations, supporting Horner & Shifrin’s strategic growth plans throughout southern Illinois. “Becoming a part of the H&S team will provide great benefit to CZE’s clients and employees. We will have the ability to access additional staff to move our projects forward, along with providing additional capabilities. Our employees will have the comfort of a stable transition plan for CZE while they themselves will soon become employee-owners at H&S,” said Mr. Ziegler.
