Transportation Infrastructure Design-Build

Horner & Shifrin has provided engineering design services for numerous transportation infrastructure design-build projects and has worked extensively with the Missouri Department of Transportation since the initial passage of Missouri design-build legislation in 2004. Horner & Shifrin understands the benefits of design-build as a project delivery method to save our clients time and money by collaborating with the contractor to complete the project successfully. Our familiarity with the way contractors think keeps our engineers on point and streamlines the process required to get to the final solution.

Our design-build history with MoDOT

The New I-64 was the first MoDOT project to use the design-build delivery method. Work on this project began in 2006 and since that time, H&S has gone on to be selected on eight total MoDOT design-build projects, four of those as prime design consultant (noted below with asterisk*). Our knowledge of the design-build process and expertise in transportation infrastructure design makes Horner & Shifrin the Right Choice as a design-build teammate and consultant.
