Horner & Shifrin Expands Geomatics Department
Since September, Horner & Shifrin has hired 20 new staff members and has expanded seven of our ten service departments. Of those departments, the Geomatics group has more than doubled over the past year.
“Horner & Shifrin continues to attract highly qualified individuals who will go the extra mile to achieve a high-quality project deliverable,” said Jeff Stahlhuth, Associate Vice President and Geomatics Business Unit Leader. “These new hires are a welcome addition to our team and will allow H&S to better serve our clients for years to come.”
Get to know our Geomatics new-hires below:
Ryan Holladay: Ryan Holladay is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst receiving his M.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems and Botany from Southeast Missouri State University. Ryan will work from Horner & Shifrin’s Poplar Bluff location.
Corey Hooe: Corey Hooe is a survey technician with more than 10 years of experience, including boundary and topographic / ALTA surveys, easements and ROW, construction staking, and flood certificates in residential and commercial settings. He is knowledgeable in the use of robotic total station and GPS applications. Corey also has experience as a materials testing technician, working in both field and laboratory conditions. Corey is located in H&S’s O’Fallon, Missouri office.
Matt Jones: Matt Jones is a survey technician based in the H&S O’Fallon, Illinois office. Matt graduated in 2018 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a M.S. in Geographical Studies.
Dan Kohnle: Dan Kohnle has more than 6 years of experience in the GIS industry. He holds a B.S. in Geography from Southern Illinois University. Dan’s experience includes data collection using various mobile LiDAR units, high-resolution GNSS referenced cameras, pavement profiling equipment and more. Dan is also a skilled aerial surveyor with hundreds of flight hours, well-versed with the workings of aerial film cameras, digital sensors, and LiDAR units. Along with collection, Dan works on the backend of multiple GIS platforms. Dan is located in our O’Fallon, Illinois office.
Desiree Nelson: Desiree Nelson is a GIS Analyst who specializes in the development of GIS applications. Her experience includes using ArcGIS and other related programs to complete various projects for clients. She is proficient in the use of ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, Trimble, and Mobile field data collection. Desiree is based in the H&S O’Fallon, Illinois office.
Mike Rapp: Mike Rapp is a survey technician and 2017 graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a B.S. in Geography. Mike works from our O’Fallon, Illinois office.
Scott Rush, PLS: Scott Rush has 17 years of experience as a land surveyor, with more than 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industry. He is licensed in Missouri and a member of the Missouri Society of Professional Land Surveyors. As a Professional Land Surveyor, Scott has provided surveying services for boundary, topographic, ALTA/ASCM land title surveys and construction layout for public and private site layouts. He is based out of our St. Louis office.
Mike Schuknecht, PLS: Mike Schuknecht is Horner & Shifrin’s Assistant Business Unit Leader for Geomatics, Survey. He has more than 40 years of surveying experience. He is licensed in Missouri and a member of the Missouri Society of Professional Land Surveyors. As a Professional Land Surveyor, Mike has provided surveying services for boundary, topographic, ALTA/ASCM land title surveys and construction layout for public and private site layouts. Mike works from Horner & Shifrin’s St. Louis office.
Sam Stamper: Sam Stamper is a survey technician located at the Horner & Shifrin O’Fallon Illinois office. Sam graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with an A.A.S. in Geography with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems, Urban Development and Sustainability.
Summer Wolfe: Summer Wolfe is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst who specializes in the development of GIS applications. Her experience includes using ArcGIS and other related programs to complete various projects for clients. She is proficient in the use of ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, Trimble, and mobile field data collection.
