Horner & Shifrin provided design and construction engineering services for a replacement three-span 81-ft long bridge over Drainage Ditch No. 23. To minimize structure height and the need for profile adjustment due to hydraulics, final configuration was three 27-ft simple spans comprised of adjacent precast concrete C-beams with an asphalt wearing surface. The substructure was supported by 12-in diameter cast-in-place concrete piles. Low height barriers were provided to accommodate farm equipment. The project was constructed on a new alignment to eliminate a jog in the existing gravel road.
