Overview
Horner & Shifrin designed the replacement of four bridges over I-64 in St. Louis’s Central West End for the Missouri Department of Transportation. The bridges carry vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Taylor, Newstead, Tower Grove and Boyle Avenues over the Interstate. All bridges on the project included aesthetic treatments, including concrete staining, decorative pedestrian railing, lighting and street signs. The project also included the design of six mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls.
