Overview
Horner & Shifrin performed topographic surveying and surface modeling for PL84-99 2015 Flood Recovery – Grand Tower and Kaskaskia / Prairie Du Rocher Levee Repairs. Our team conducted on-site topographic of 35 levee slide repair areas and volume calculations utilizing Microstation surface modeling according to US Army Corps of Engineers requirements. H&S provided permanent survey monuments along levee segments. Key success of the project required our team to work closely with Corps staff, earthwork contractor, and materials testing staff to perform on-site topographic and volume calculation surveys while coordinating our efforts with the on-site earthwork contractor, rain and flooding events, and additional task order requests simultaneously to meet Corps objectives and deadlines.
