Overview
Horner & Shifrin completed a hydraulic and scour study to determine options for improving the Rte. 61 over Cuivre River crossing which had scour issues that threatened the integrity of the structures. A consultation with MoDOT on a geomorphic study was also completed. Evaluation of stream meander, guide banks and spurs was included. Several options, including rehabilitation and new structures were evaluated and preliminary plans for each completed to the level necessary to provide cost estimates. The final solution was to place large quarry rock at the threatened bents until funds can be secured to replace the structures.
