Raciel Ocampo Joins Horner & Shifrin as Project Manager – Transportation

Raciel Ocampo, PE has joined Horner & Shifrin as Transportation Project Manager in the Chicago area.  Raciel has 10 years of experience in transportation engineering design, with a particular focus on roadway geometrics and maintenance of traffic.  He has experience as a project manager in Phase I and II work for the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Tollway, and Ohio Department of Transportation.

Raciel is a Professional Engineer registered in the states of Illinois and Ohio.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University.  He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Illinois (D1 and Emerging Professionals) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Illinois (Transportation & Development Institute). He is also part of the ACEC – MOT Seminar committee.

Raciel has worked on a wide array of transportation projects, providing services including intersection design studies, crash analysis, and project development reports, development of Phase II bid documents, staged construction, complex maintenance of traffic plans, transportation management plans, and cost estimates for clients.  Raciel recently held the position of Traffic Control Staging reviewer for IDOT, Region 1, District 1, where he was responsible for the complex review of more than 250 maintenance of traffic contracts and transportation management plans over the course of two years.
