About John Allan

John Allan is a civil engineer with more than 12 years of experience in roadway design, traffic signal design, and lighting system design. A technical design lead for seven years and project manager for three, John is highly proficient in OpenRoads Designer and the full UDOT design process, delivering projects that meet MUTCD, UDOT, and AASHTO standards. His work spans sidewalk replacements to complex freeway interchange designs. A FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot since 2022, John has integrated Unmanned Aerial Systems into UDOT workflows using photogrammetry to enhance site investigations, lighting analysis, and design outcomes.
