Brian Pawula Joins Horner & Shifrin as Assistant Regional Manager – Transportation

Brian Pawula, PE, PMP has joined Horner & Shifrin as Assistant Regional Manager responsible for leading Transportation efforts in the Chicago area. Brian has more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering design, with an emphasis on roadway infrastructure. He has experience as a project manager in Phase I and II work for the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Tollway, and various Chicagoland counties and municipalities.

Brian is a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Illinois. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Brian is also a certified Project Management Professional. He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Illinois, is the Past President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Illinois, and serves on the worldwide Leader Training Committee for ASCE National.

Brian has a comprehensive background in urban and rural roadway planning and design, including intersection and interchange design studies, Phase I project reports, public involvement; Phase II preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates, stage construction, and complex maintenance of traffic plans. More recent design experience includes diverging diamond interchanges and award-winning streetscapes. Extending himself beyond day-to-day engineering, Brian has been volunteering with ASCE for over 16 years where he has served in leadership positions and taken special interest in mentoring and training others, government relations and advocacy, and the Illinois Infrastructure Report Card.
